We recently photographed Jenny and Eric’s wedding on Cape Cod and we loved every second of it. We love anything that is unique and fun, and well…Jenny and Eric took that idea and just ran with it! Their wedding definitely have the feel of a beautiful summer wedding on Cape Cod, but there were so many little touches that it made it completely unique to their personalities.
Their ceremony and reception were held at the beautiful and historic Captain Linnell House in Orleans. Their guests arrived and made their way through the estate and to the back of the property where their ceremony was held under the shade of a giant maple tree. Some details that their guests picked up along the way were the hand made programs:
And they could also pause to write some well wishes in Jenny and Eric’s guestbook as well:
Jenny and Eric’s ceremony was so beautiful and personal and they exchanged vows surrounded by their closest family and friends – some of whom traveled from very far to share their day with them. Then as the ceremony was nearing its end, their wedding party began to serenade Jenny and Eric as they made their way down the aisle! They planned and practiced for weeks and they sounded absolutely amazing! As soon as Jenny and Eric were pronounced husband and wife, their wedding party began singing “Seasons of Love” from the hit Broadway musical, Rent. Since Jenny and Eric are huge fans of theater and musicals, this was such an appropriate way for them to incorporate that love into their ceremony. Here Jenny and Eric paused to listen to their wedding party as they began to sing:
Everyone then made their way inside the estate to enjoy a fabulous lunch and lots of dancing. LOTS of dancing! Before their reception drew to a close, though, all of their guests lined up outside of the exit doors with flower petals and the result was some really fun images and memories for everyone:
One of the things that we were looking forward to the most was the time that we would have with Jenny and Eric and their entire wedding party after the reception. You see, they had timed everything so that we would be able to spend a lot of time with them after everything had ended. This meant that we were able to head down to the local beach for some fun with everyone!
Jenny and Eric had warned us that their wedding party would be a lot of fun. And this was definitely one time where there was no exaggeration to that! We had so much fun with these guys! It was a gorgeous summer afternoon, the beach was beautiful and everyone was just so happy to be around each other. What more could you ask for! So having fun was exactly what we did. A huge thanks to their fabulous wedding party for really running with all of our crazy ideas and having a great time doing it!
That beach grass may look soft and cushy but we all – with our bare feet – discovered very quickly that it is not!
Having no pressure to be anywhere else meant that we got to spend a lot of time with Jenny and Eric for their own portraits as well. The results were just amazing. Jenny and Eric are such a gorgeous couple and are also the sweetest duo that you’ll ever meet. What an amazing combination:
Eric was so not interested in wearing a tux, by the way. Instead he was completely GQ in his Hugo Boss suit and designer accessories. He worked hard to get his look just right and if you ask us…he pulled it off PERFECTLY:
Speaking of their wedding-day attire, Jenny’s dress and accessories were gorgeous. I’m going to put it right out there and reveal that this was a $7,000 gown. The best part, though? Jenny found this gorgeous designer dress at the famous Filene’s Basement Bridal Event and she actually paid only a fraction of its true value. The dress had to be altered, of course, and so this dress is actually custom made for her (and it showed)!

Jenny also had the most amazing Kate Spade shoes! I’m in love with Kate Spade (as is Jenny) and I think I was probably just as excited about Jenny wearing her shoes as she was! So when the lighting was just beautiful and as we were wrapping up our session I thought it was about time for the shoes to have their own little session. Since I’m always sneaking some “behind the scenes” images of Rene shooting, he decided to dish out some payback with this one of me:

What we can say, Jenny and Eric?? You two are just superstars! We love you to pieces and can’t thank you enough for having so much fun with us. Your wedding was just so beautiful, so personal and so perfect – thank you so much for having us there with you!
