After nine amazing years together, Rene and I decided it was time. And before everyone around us starts having heart attacks, we are not going to have a baby. At least not of the human variety.
We are, however, the proud new parents of a little Boxer puppy!
Max came home with us at the end of July when he was only eight weeks old and we have been having so much fun with him. He’s now just about 5 months old and is growing faster than we can believe. It feels like every morning he’s grown just a little bit more. He’s at that really awkward age at the moment where his ears, tail and paws are all full grown and well….everything else needs to grow into them. He’s just so adorable and we can’t get enough of him. And I’m really beginning to think that puppies are created this cute to keep you from killing them whenever they have an accident in the house. But we’re happy to report that Max is finally completely house trained and is now well into his obedience training, too! So now that we’ve started bringing him into the studio with us, we thought that it was about time to finally introduce him to everyone! So everyone…. meet Max!

Max is a complete sun worshiper. If there’s a ray of sun coming through a window, Max will find it and warm his little belly with it. (Don’t cats do this??) So in our studio, the sun comes in through the windows and creates sunspots on the wood floor and Max is as happy as he can be while sunning himself all day long. You can even hear him get up and shuffle over a few feet as the sun move across the floor.
One of the best things about having a puppy is watching them discover things for the first time. Here Max just discovered his shadow and is having fun trying to catch it. You can also really see how his tail, his paws and his floppy ears are practically all bigger than his entire body. How adorable is that?? His belly also hangs down a bit which is exactly how he was nicknamed “Sausage” by Rene. Poor baby.

This next image was just taken last week. Remember how much he loves the sun? Well towards the end of the afternoon, those sun spots on the floor become harder and harder to come by. Eventually, all that was left of the sun was a sliver of light at the very edge of our couch. Max was literally hugging the couch, desperate to stay in the sun as long as he possibly could. All we could see over the arm of the couch were his two ears and little eyes. We just couldn’t stop laughing at this little face:

So there he is! Our new little studio mascot. I’m sure that you’ll be seeing a lot more of him since he spends most of his waking hours at the studio with us!
