Ashley and George

Ashley and George finally got married this past Saturday! They booked us back in September of 2004 so we’ve been waiting a long time for their wedding! They had a traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Boston. If you’ve never attended a traditional Greek orthodox wedding before, it’s an amazing ceremony to watch! Every little piece of the ceremony is steeped in tradition and has a meaning. Since Ashley isn’t Greek, they even held the entire ceremony in Greek and in English so everyone in attendance would be able to understand!

I’m such a details-girl and Ashley and George did not let us down! There so many cute details everywhere including these personalized bubbles that I just loved:

They assigned some guests to stand by the exit door and pass out the bubbles as the rest of the guests were leaving. Then everone lined up outside and waited for Ashley and George to come out. Without that adorable detail we wouldn’t have been able to get a fun shot like this:

Their reception was held at the gorgeous Hyatt Harborside in Boston. The original plan was to have all of our group photos taken outside, and even though the downpours had stopped, it was still VERY humid and Ashley and George opted to let their family stay inside. When it was time for their own photos alone, though, they weren’t about to let a little drizzle stop them so outside we went! We were able to get some amazing shots of the two of them outside and against the Boston skyline as well very cool ones around the hotel. Since it was a little….BREEZY when we went outside, Ashley’s veil was having a hard time staying put. It was driving Ashley crazy, but it made Rene and I VERY happy since we were able to get some cool images like this one!

So now Ashley and George are away having fun on their 11 day honeymoon! Their website will be up before they’re even home so we can wait for them to see it!

Erin and PJ

Erin and PJ’s wedding took place this past Saturday in Dedham and Needham.  The day was one of the hottest ones we’ve had all summer but Erin and PJ even planned for that.  They had little battery powered fans waiting for the bridal party at the church!  It was so fun to see the little brightly-colored blades moving everywhere at the front of the church!

And here are a few of our favorite images from Saturday.  This first one was right after Erin got dressed and we snuck outside for a few pictures of her and all of her girls (all 10 of them — and PJ had 15 groomsmen!).  Erin is just so stunning and her eyes are absolutely gorgeous!

Here’s another one of our favorites, but this time of PJ.  This is actually in a hallway right in the hotel where they had their reception.  Rene loved the repeating pattern of the lights on the walls and took this great portrait of PJ:

Once the reception got started, it was non stop fun and laughing for these guys.  Now they’re relaxing for just over a week in St. Lucia and we can’t hear all about it since that was where we originally wanted to go for our own honeymoon!  Their website will be ready soon so keep checking back on our “My Event” page!

Kristin and Jon

Kristin and Jon had the perfect summer wedding last Friday. The location - The Indian Pond Country Club (www.indianpondcountryclub.com) provided the perfect backdrop for their ceremony and reception. And since both Kristin and Jon arrived at the country club early, Rene and I got to spend some time with both of them before the ceremony. We had tons of fun with both of them and I had to sneak around with Kristin a bit so Jon wouldn’t see her accidentally…

Here are a few images of Kristin just after she got dressed. This first one is definitely my personal favorite!

And another… I absolutely loved Kristin’s dress and here you can see all of the buttons going down the back of it.

Meanwhile, Rene was busy with Jon and took some great images of him as well. I heard there were some acrobatics involved in getting this first shot!

Kristin and John also had a beautiful flower girl and two very handsome ring bearers as well. The tux was giving one of the ring bearers a little bit of trouble, though and I thought this was such a cute photo from Rene of that moment…

After the ceremony, we all climbed into little golf carts and made our away around the golf course for photos. So much fun! And not to mention an amazing backdrop, too!

And I just love this candid of Kristin. I was talking to Jon off to the side and Kristin was just waiting for us when Rene took this one of her:

There are SO many more that we absolutely love from this wedding!! Keep watching for their website which will be up very soon!

Vincent William Desmarais

We’d like to help officially welcome Vinny Desmarais in to the world! He’s the nucleus of his mom and dad’s life now and a completely unexpected gift for them, too. We’ve known Kim and Donny for years now - ever since they booked us to photograph their wedding which was held last year! We’ve become good friends with them and we were so excited when we found out that Kim was pregnant!

Cute little story about Kim and Donny. They came over earlier this year to pick up their wedding album and we happened to be talking kids. Rene and I were saying how everyone we know seems to be getting pregnant and Kim and Donny said the same thing was happening in their family, too. We all joked and said that the four of us would be the only couples around without any kids soon. Except that none of us knew that Kim was carrying little Vinny at the very moment! So after finding out the wonderful news, Kim and Donny kicked it into high gear to get ready for Vinny’s arrival. And then, just six days before their first anniversary, Vinny was born!

We went to visit them last week for Vinny’s very first portrait session. There are so many of my favorites from this session! I absolutely loved the one at the top of this post when Kim was just cuddling with him.  And here are a few more:

And his little yawns will just make you want to melt:

And here’s one of the entire brand new Desmarais family:

More images from Vinny’s session will be ready soon on their website. Congratulations!!! We can’t wait to see you guys again soon!

Amanda and Kevin

We spent last Saturday with Amanda and Kevin at their gorgeous wedding at the Andover Country Club and it was just an amazing day. We’ve known Amanda and Kevin for about a year and a half now. We actually met them through friends of theirs, Jodi and Greg whose wedding we photographed last year!

The big thing that really amazed me about their wedding were all of little details that Amanda and Kevin spent so much time on for the wedding. They thought of everything and it really showed! Everywhere you looked there was another personalized touch. Amanda’s aunt made her garter - a gorgeous Red Sox themed one! They also had their names and wedding date engraved in a baseball bat and it was set right among their placecards at the reception. They used an actual mailbox as their card basket and it was hand painted with their last name on it and also matched their wedding colors, too. So many little things! The one thing that did make me a bit emotional, though, was the amazing surprise Amanda planned for Kevin and his mom. Kevin’s dad passed away last October and Amanda arranged to have a single rose in a bud vase placed on every table with a little note attached that said, “In loving memory of Kevin Hammond”. It was beautifully simple and so touching. Kevin and his mom had no idea that she put this together so I can imagine how they felt when they saw it for the first time, too.

It was so much fun for Rene and I to split up early in the day and be with both Amanda and Kevin at the same time! Amanda and all of the girls went to a lake near the church and were able to get lots of fun images like this one:

Thanks Amanda for going along with all of my crazy ideas!! I asked Amanda to lay down on this bench in her dress and she didn’t even think twice she plopped right down and was ready for anything! Rene got some very cool shots of Kevin as well before the ceremony. Kevin’s grandfather was actually a railman and used a pocket watch to stay on schedule. He passed his pocketwatch down to Kevin’s dad, and Kevin’s dad passed it on to Kevin. Kevin had it on him at the wedding and you can imagine how special it is. I absolutely love this image of it:

And now at this very moment, Amanda and Kevin are relaxing and soaking in some sun and beach on a weeklong cruise to Bermuda. We can’t wait to hear all about it when you get back!!

Beth and Jeff

Beth and Jeff had the most elegant and romantic wedding this past Saturday. The entire ceremony and reception was held at the Crane Estate in Ipswich, MA. If you’ve never been there, it’s worth a trip just to enjoy the gorgeous estate and the stunning views!

What a perfect location for an outdoor cermony and the weather did not disappoint. As the guests were seated, they were facing an incredible view of rolling green hills leading right to the ocean. It was just stunning! As were Beth and Jeff! After the ceremony we were able to sneak away to the Italian gardens for some formals. How many people can say that? And it was just as beautiful as it sounds, too. Here’s one of the images we took of Jeff and Beth and their wedding party. We always try to have fun with the weddng party and not just line everyone up for the more “traditional” wedding party shot. Like this!

After some more photos with the wedding party and Beth and Jeff’s family, we sent everyone back to the cocktail party and then we had plenty of time to just play around with Beth and Jeff alone. They were so ready to try anything! Beth climbed up on a stone bannister while Jeff perched himself on a little ledge just below it. The results were incredible! And here are a few other ones that we were able to get, too:

And then we took a few of both Jeff and Beth by themselves. I just love this one of Beth!

And here’s one I love of Jeff, too. Check out Jeff’s suit by the way… None of the men had tuxes but instead all wore very stylish suits. I absolutely loved the look!

And I thought I’d end this little peek into their wedding with a photo from their first dance. All of their guests danced on the open air terrace right behind the estate. It was so beautiful because it meant that all of their guests could enjoy the setting sun while feeling the nice cool breeze and then were able to dance under the stars at night! But first, Jeff and Beth enjoyed their first dance surrounded by everyone and this was definitely one of my favorite moments.

Thank you for letting us be there with you all day! It was truly so beautiful and we’ll really never, ever forget it.  See you soon when you come back from your honeymoon!
