Meet the newly expanded Foley family!

It always amazes me what a wondeful job we have (and an incredible responsiblity) when I think about all of the life moments we are privileged to witness and help preserve for couples and families every single week. I always appreciate that even more whenever we have a newborn session. Just last week, I was able to meet the newest addition to the Foley family! Maryann and Bob recently welcomed Emma into their family and she joined Aidan who is already a great big brother!

Since Aidan is a few years older than Emma, I wanted to be sure that he would feel comfortable around me since I was still a stranger to him. I figured I may need to go out of my way a bit to let him get to know me a bit before I even brought my camera out. Well, I had figured Aidan out all wrong. About two minutes after I walked in, Aidan asked me if I’d like to see his room and before I knew he gave me a grand tour of their entire home! Here is Aidan showing me his prized possession - the train set that his dad helped him build:

Isn’t he just a cutie?? And then of course there’s Emma. The most perfectly content baby I’ve ever seen! She’s just so adorable and you will NOT be able to resist wanting to pinch these adorably chunky cheeks:

Can you see that little leg poking out, too?? You just want to eat her up! Then Maryann and Bob said they’d love to see them together in front of their fireplace. This was the very first time Aidan had ever held Emma, and Emma was not too pleased which made for some very adorable photos of Aidan trying to pose for a photo all the while holding a screaming Emma. Priceless! My favorite has to be this one quiet moment in the middle of it all:

So congratulations again to the Foley family! We can’t wait to see you soon!

Nicole and Matt’s engagement session

So within days of officially booking us for their wedding, Nicole and Matt we were already planning their
engagement session with us! We love that kind of decisiveness! After having to reschedule once because of the rain, we were finally able to get together with them last Sunday and we spent such a wonderful morning around Columbus Park and the North End in Boston!

It was perfect weather and we took advantage of the gorgeous water views and the quaint little streets around the North end. Here’s a quick sneak peak of the soon-to-be-married Nicole and Matt:

Then we “borrowed” a chair from the still-closed restaurant along the water so we get create a little Vogue-like action from Nicole and Matt. Nicely done guys!

And my shoe/feet obsession continues:

There are so many more images to show from this session - we had such a great time with Nicole and Matt!  Now we wish we didn’t have to wait until next August for their wedding! But now that we’ve seen them in action, it definitely promises to be absolutely stunning day, so we’ll do our best to be patient!!

Rachel and Eric - Five years later!

We had a most wonderful opportunity to photograph Rachel and Eric’s vow renewal on their fifth anniversary recently. We met Rachel and Eric when they were part of the Eric’s brother’s wedding party a few years ago. Then just a few months ago we got a call from Rachel to see if we would be able to photograph their own vow renewal. We were thrilled to have the weekend open and couldn’t wait to see them again!

In the weeks leading up to their vow renewal Rachel and I chatted a few times about the specific details. One thing she kept telling us over and over again was that they would be up for anything as far as their portraits were concerned. She kept telling me that this was a once in a lifetime event for them and they just didn’t know when they would be all dressed up and have a couple of professional photographers to follow them around. So they told us that they really wanted to go all out and asked us to do whatever our hearts desired with them. Can I just tell you how excited Rene and I were?!? This was already a nice change of pace for us and the fact that we had so much time and freedom with Rachel and Eric just made us giddy. Another detail that we loved was that they had their ceremony and reception at a very unique venue - the Jones River Trading Company. It’s honestly a building with more props and hidden corners than we knew what do with!

So without further ado - here are our favs! They started with a beautiful ceremony that left all of their guests in tears. Just seconds before Rachel and Eric walked down the aisle, Rachel turned and gave me a little wink. You’ve got to love this sass!

The ceremony itself was so beautiful and emotional. Eric’s sister, Amy had some some very touching things to share with everyone and as you can see from Rene’s image below, even Rachel and Eric had a hard time holding it back:

Then after the ceremony, we had a LOT of fun with this gorgeous duo. We truly did not want to stop! Here are some of our favorites. First the incredibly handsome Eric in front of this great old mirror we found:

And now for the stunning Rachel:

And here are a few of them together. It was so hard to pick a “few”!

Those eyes!!!! I love them so much!

Aren’t they just an amazing couple?? I could just go on and on. It was also so much fun to get together with two of our past couples that were also there! Jess and Patrick were married on 9/4/04 and are also Rachel and Eric’s brother and sister in law. And Sharon and Robbie were also there and we photographed their wedding on 7/31/05. It was SO wonderful to be with them all evening, too.

Rachel and Eric also had another great idea and we set up a little portrait station of sorts for them, so that every couple in attendance could have a portrait taken. We did some traditional ones, a lot of fun (and funny!) ones, and a lot of romantic ones, too — it was all up to the couple! What a great way to end an evening that was centered around another couple renewing their own vows and we wish nothing but more love and happiness for Rachel and Eric!

Liz and Jason

You might recognize Liz and Jason from another session we just did with them a few weeks ago! We posted about it here: http://www.tiradophotography.com/wordpress/?p=259

We had so much fun with them that morning and just couldn’t wait to see what they had in store for us at the wedding. Well, they definitely did not disappoint! Liz and Jason had a breathtakingly elegant wedding at the Ritz Carlton in Boston. Everything was so beautifuli and so meticulously planned. It was an “event” in the true sense of the word and an evening that I’m sure they and their guests will be remembering for a long, long time.

Liz got ready right at the Ritz in a suite upstairs and one of my favorite moments was when Liz’s dad saw her for the very first time. I spoke with Mr. Cohen the week before the wedding and I knew just from our phone call that this was going to be an emotional evening for him. And I was just so honored to be there when he saw his daughter for the first time in her wedding gown. Here’s one in a series of images I got from those few minutes:

After Liz saw her dad, she then was ready to see Jason for the first time, too. Liz and Jason had decided that they would see each other before their ceremony and so they arranged to have a special quiet meeting together. Liz and her “entourage” (which really just consisted of her close friends, her parents and family and myself) had to walk down two long hallways, take an elevator and up a long spiral staircase to meet him. That definitely built up a lot of anticipation and we were all on pins and needles waiting for “the” moment. And when they finally did see each other for the first time, it was even more special than we could have imagined. You can see how emotional they are (and see the tears streaming down Liz’s face!) in Rene’s image here:

After they spent some time together, we all went outside for some photos. The Ritz Carlton is located just across the street from the Public Gardens where the foliage was at its peak - we couldn’t have dreamed of a better location! Here are just a couple of our favorites:

There were so many more that we loved, too. Including one where Liz and Jason are completely lost in a kiss right on the bridge while tons of tourists were bustling right by. It was great! Liz also had an AMAZINGLY beautiful gown that fit her like a glove. She was just so stunning and you can see some of the beautiful detail in her dress in that last photo.

One my other favorite little details from their wedding was that all of their guests were given bubbles and as Liz and Jason were announced into the reception, they walked right into a shower of these bubbles. I just love how beautiful it was and really love their expressions as they walked in here:

And finally, here’s one more of the happy couple spinning around the dance floor during their first dance:

Their website is just about ready, and we are so excited for Liz and Jason to see the rest of the photos! It was such a perfect evening and we just loved spending the entire day with them and finally meeting their wonderful families, as well!
