What an amazing way to end the year! Amy and Jay had one incredibly beautiful wedding on New Year’s Eve! I’m not even sure where to start!
Amy and Jay are a fantastic couple that we met about a year and a half ago. We knew right away that we were all going to be have a great time together and just hearing about all of their plans for the past year and half really made us look forward to being able to spend an entire day with them. They had their reception at the beautiful Hyatt Regency in downtown Boston - and there’s no where else you’d really rather be with all of the festivities going on around the city! Then, when they told us recently that they left a 3 hour gap between the end of the ceremony and the beginning of the cocktail hour because they wanted to make sure they would have plenty of time to get some really creative and artistic photos - we were on pins and needles with anticipation! They are such a gorgeous couple and so ready for anything, so we went in with very high expectations!
Since there are so many variables when planning a wedding and especially when planning one on New Year’s eve, Amy and Jay took no chances and hired a wedding planner to help keep everything straight. Well, they definitely hired one of the best! Susan Normandin from Norman Event Professionals (www.normandinevents.com) was INCREDIBLE! I’ll be honest and say that I have no idea how much work Susan did behind the scene. But what I do know is that the entire day from the moment Amy began getting ready to the last song at the reception was so very smooth and perfectly executed. Anyways, if anyone is thinking about a wedding planning or even a day of coordinator, I would definitely recommend talking to Susan!
So now onto some photos so you can see how much fun we had with Amy and Jay!
First here’s a glimpse of Jay as he was waiting in the back of the church for Amy to arrive. I’m thinking this is one of the happiest grooms I’ve seen in a long time!

Right after the ceremony, Amy and Jay stopped at a pond so that we could take some photos (and have a quiet moment together) just before the sun set. Love that blue, blue sky behind them!

And now for just a quick detail. The centerpieces that they had chosen were so beautiful and created the most romantic and elegant setting. Their centerpieces alternated between low arrangements of flowers surrounded by taper candles and these gorgeous candelabras. The scene was truly breathtaking when you walked into the ballroom for the first time.

Before Amy and Jay headed over to their cocktail hour, they braved the cold (and snow that had fallen the day before!) to get some great night images around the city. We went everywhere with them! Here’s one of Amy by herself with the phenomenal cape that was custom made for her. Rene and I both fell in love with this cape and we had tons of fun with it!

Here’s another close up. Amy’s just showing it all off here - gorgeous eyes, great smile …

And we got so many great images of Jay as well. It was torture to try and pick one out for the blog. Rene and I are torn about our favorites (which is always a good thing!) so here’s one of the many of Jay, this one taken outside the old Paramount theatre. Such a great backdrop for a very debonair-looking Jay!

And one more taking advantage of the great lights outside the hotel:

Amy and Jay are now enjoying a very well-deserved two week honeymoon! I know they’re going to be checking in regularly to see their blog entry, so we just want to tell you guys how much we loved being with you all day on Sunday and truly cannot wait to see you again when you get back. We’re so excited for you to see the rest of images!
