If you blink you just might miss the super dynamic Coles family!

.

These days the only way you’ll see the Coles family in one place at one time for more than a few minutes is in a photograph like this one!  That’s because with four kids ranging in age from two years old  to eighteen years old there’s very little “down” time in this home!  From soccer, to band, to football there always something to do or some place that they have to be.

It also means that “fun” was the word of the day when we got together with with them last week.  Jo-Ann - who is truly Super Mom in EVERY sense of the word - knows that being a kid is the best part of growing up.  When we first arrived we wanted to play with Mackenzie (age 2) and Katie (age 4)  outside to get some fun images of them and when the girls bolted out the door without any socks or shoes on and mom was totally okay with it, we knew we were going to having a GREAT session.  There’s nothing like having the freedom to capture everyone being themselves and that’s exactly what we did!

In addition to getting the family together we were able to sneak some “alone” time with everyone, too!

What a fantastic whirlwind and incredibly fun session!  We can’t wait to see you guys again soon!

Leah and Andrew’s evening to remember in Boston

Leah and Andrew had both their ceremony and their reception at the gorgeous Ballroom Veronique in Brookline. We were so excited to be here again and especially to be here with Leah and Andrew. These guys are such a fun couple and we knew that we were going to have an incredible day together!

Leah and Andrew talked to us ahead of time about wanting to see each other before the ceremony and so we were able to help them coordinate that very special moment and set aside a little time for them to share it privately. What happened next resulted in some of our favorite photos from the entire day!

I’m still getting chills just remembering how wonderful those few minutes were. We’re so happy that we were able to be there and quietly capture all of it for them! But that’s not everything. We have so many favorites from their wedding! There this one of Leah as she was getting ready - her eyes are just so amazingly beautiful!

.

And I just adore this one of Leah and Andrew together:

.

And the details! Leah and Andrew had the best details from their gorgeous blue wedding cake to their incredibly unique favors (everyone received tree seeds in a box with instructions how to plant them!!). And then there was this fantastic idea…a Polaroid guest book! They set aside two Polaroid cameras and had albums where their guests could insert their Polaroid photos into specially cut slits and then write a personal message underneath it. It was a HUGE hit with their guests!

.

There was so many great moment and memories and we’re so excited for Leah and Andrew to relive it all again with their website! Thank you guys again so much for letting us be there with you and for having so much fun with us!!!

All 2007 wedding and portrait galleries have been extended! And our *gasp* holiday deadline announcement

It’s hard to believe, but it looks like the rush to order prints for the holidays has already begun! And as we do every year, we just reactivated and extended all of our wedding and portrait sessions from 2007!

And along those lines, it’s time to announce our holiday order deadline! The deadline this year will be on December 1st, 2007. This means is that if you have your order in to us by December 1st, we can guarantee that you’ll have your prints by December 22nd.

For any album orders that are still pending, the great news is that if you’ve already approved the layout for your album, then you will be receiving your finished album before the holidays! If you haven’t approved your album layout just yet, we’ll still be working on them as quickly as we can, but unfortunately we’re just not able to 100% guarantee that it will be ready by December 22nd.

We’re so happy to announce that we have extended the deadline for parent albums, too! The deadline for submitting your selections for a parent album is November 5th. As long as we receive all of your selections by November 5th then we will make sure that you will have your finished album by December 22nd!

And as always, just give us a call or send us an email anytime at all if you have any questions or need help making your selections!

Happy ordering!!!

Sheryl and Dave’s gorgeous city wedding

Sheryl and Dave recently had their wedding in Boston at the beautiful Seaport hotel. Their wedding was one that focused purely on their family and friends and on finally sharing their vows with each other. We were so honored to be a part of their wedding and spend the day with them as they experienced the roller coaster of emotions that day!

From the beautifully romantic setting for their ceremony - complete with a rose petal-lined aisle, to the heartfelt toasts by Dave’s daughter and Sheryl’s sister everything was something unforgettable. Here are a few little “teaser” images from their day!

Sheryl and Dave had these incredibly gorgeous centerpieces that were made up for tall water-filled vases and a breathtaking arrangement including orchids that seemed to suspend mid air on their own. I love this fun image that Rene took of those “floating” orchids:

.

They also had an incredibly unique idea for a very typical detail of the reception. We first noticed this on every table:

.

If you saw this envelope sitting at your table, what you do? Would you peek and see what was inside? Would wait for further instructions?

Well, if you said you would have peeked, then your curiosity would have been well rewarded! Inside every envelope was a note from Sheryl and Dave explaining that because you peeked inside, you got to keep the centerpiece! I thought that was so unique and such a fun way to give the centerpieces away!

For our portrait session with Sheryl and Dave, we actually took to the streets around the Seaport hotel. We found arches and buildings and street lamps and had so much fun with them all like with this image - one of our favorites:

.

Sheryl and Dave are now spending 12 glorious days in Europe and we are just dying to hear all about it when they return. We also can’t wait to share the rest of their photos with them, too!! See you both soon!

A portrait session just for Sophie

We spent a perfect fall afternoon recently with Sophie and her family. Sophie’s family recently moved here from Manhattan and her mom and dad asked us to come out to their new home for a portrait session. We had such a great time with this little teeny munchkin and spent so much time laughing and playing with her while catching some great two year old moments! Here are just a couple of our favorites:

There’s nothing like spending an afternoon with a fun, happy two year old to remind you of how important it is to just PLAY.  Sophie’s little giggle and her incredibly vivid imagination kept us going all afternoon.  We just can’t wait to do it all again soon!!

Errol is 2 years old!

.

One of our favorite little boys just turned 2 years old! Don’t believe anything you hear about two year olds and the “terrible twos”, etc. The truth is, this is probably one of my favorite ages for a toddler. I’ll admit, that may not be a completely fair statement as our sessions with toddlers involve a lot of fun, laughing and playing all afternoon. Who wouldn’t love that?

We photographed Errol for the first time when he was just a baby and when we arrived for our session last weekend, I truly almost didn’t recognize the incredibly handsome and grinning little boy that answered the door! We had such a great afternoon with Errol and his family and the one thing I couldn’t help but feel as we said goodbye later that afternoon was that I really wish I could be two years old again!

And look at that grin and those beautiful blue eyes! We had way too many favorites to post them all here so we’re really excited about his mom and dad getting to see the entire website now! In the meantime, here are a few that were extra special for us:

This first image is one that I think I will keep in my heart forever. You see, Errol had been asking his mom and dad for a tricycle for a long time. So when his mom and dad finally agreed, they purchased one. But they kept it hidden from Errol until our portrait session was scheduled. (Thank you, guys!) Their hope was that they would be able to surprise Errol with his beloved tricycle and we would be there to help capture the surprise. At one point in the afternoon, Errol was sitting in a little red chair posing with his fireman’s hat and having a grand old time with us, when his mom and dad appeared from behind us rolling out the tricycle that he had been hoping and wishing for for such a long time. This is what happened next….

.

And that is truly something I will always remember and why we love our job so much. :) Here’s another image, another one of my favorites that just captures Errol perfectly - a beautiful and incredibly happy little boy!

.

We can’t wait to see Errol and his family again very soon!
