Megan and Jeff’s engagement session

.

We spent an afternoon with Megan and Jeff in beautiful downtown Plymouth last week for their engagement session! We were so excited because downtown Plymouth is so gorgeous and has so many different elements that it makes it impossible to use everything in one session!

We first met Megan and Jeff when Megan was the bridesmaid in Margaret and Tim’s wedding in July. That made it all the more fun, because they already knew what they were in for before we even started! We definitely had fun running around with then on public property (and some not-so-public property!) and we just couldn’t wait to start working on their website! We finally have it all ready and here are a couple more of our favorites:

I love the lighting and the emotion on this next image. This is a combination of nature’s timing (when the sun peeked out at just the right moment) and Megan and Jeff’s own magic:

We are so excited for their wedding next May! So keep watching the blog - you’re going to see these guys here again in just a few more months!

Alyssa and Kirk’s urban engagement session

We spent a fantastic afternoon in downtown Boston with Alyssa and Kirk last Saturday! The timing is great because their wedding is almost exactly one year away. We decided to meet right at the beautiful Langham hotel which is where their reception is going to be as well. We first took a sneak peak around the hotel and starting talking about some great ideas for the wedding next year and then we got to the fun stuff and just walked around the financial district for a fantastic urban session. Here are some of our favorites!

I love Alyssa and Kirk’s laugh - we had so much fun with them! They both have this fantastic smile and so put them together and combine that with their gorgeous selves and it’s really impossible to take a photo that’s anything less than amazing!

Happy one year “pre” anniversary, guys! We’re SO excited to do it all again in a year!!

Claire is 2 years old!!

One of the best perks ever to this thing we call a “career” is watching our favorite little munchkins grow up right before our eyes. We’ve known Claire since she was just a little baby and were privileged to photograph her as an infant, then when she turned one and in keeping with this yearly tradition we had another session just this past weekend. We couldn’t believe how quickly Claire has grown up into an adorable, funny two year old!

We had an incredibly fun morning with Claire and her mom and dad. We spent all morning hunting for Super Grover in the Public Garden in Boston, feeding the ducks, and running around under the trees. We absolutely love Claire and her family and we had so much fun capturing her gorgeous little grin and getting to see (and photograph) again the absolute adoration that her mom and dad have for their only little girl. So here are some of our very favorites from our session!

Getting some last minute instructions from dad before providing the ducks with some toast that she helped prepare the day before:

And the end result after the ducks were very pleased with their treat!

Claire decided to collect some fallen leaves and give them to her mom and dad. She then took it to whole new level when she found this branch that her was practically an entire tree! This little mischievous grin is enough to make you want to scoop her right up and tickle her, isn’t it?

.

There’s no doubt in our mind that Claire is the wonderfully happy and content little girl that she is because of all of the love that she gets from her parents, Katie and Tom. This is really what it’s all about and the kind of moments that you always remember for the rest of your life:

We were so happy to see Katie, Tom and Claire again and can’t BELIEVE how much Claire has grown up already! We’re counting the days until she turns 3 and can only imagine the fun we’ll have then!!

A sunrise engagement session!

We’re always on the lookout for something new and different. We love to try new things and get our couples excited about experimenting with us. And Jenn and Tommy definitely got into the spirit when they were planning their own engagement session. A sunset engagement session? Very beautiful. But a sunrise engagement - very beautiful AND unique. So when they asked about getting together for an early sunrise session, it was just crazy enough that we said yes!

So last Sunday we all woke up nice and early and we met at Jenn and Tommy’s home at 6am sharp. It was still dark out and pretty chilly but you could just see the beginnings of the sunrise on the far horizon. You’d think that we’d all be groggy, but we were actually all so excited about what we were about to do that not only were we wide awake we were all pretty giddy! It was great!

The lighting and the sky during a sunrise is absolutely breathtaking. (This was somewhat of an epiphany for us since I don’t think we’ve ever been up early enough to truly appreciate it! ) We were constantly looking around us and just “ooh-ing” and “aah-ing” at the gorgeous colors. It was a perfect backdrop for Jenn and Tommy, who are an absolutely adorable couple themselves. So here are our favorites in chronological order as the sun began to rise:

We had so much fun with Jenn and Tommy and now we can’t wait for the wedding! We’ll have to wait a little while since they’ll be getting married on Valentine’s Day in 2009 but after this weekend’s engagement session, we know that it’s definitely going to be worth the wait!!

Holly and Justin’s wedding weekend

Holly and Justin are our traveling twins and I can’t believe it took us this long to meet them! We first met Holly and Justin last year and immediately fell in love with them. It turns out they love to travel around the world just as much as we do and we spent pretty much an entire evening talking about all of their adventures. Since then we’ve only become closer and closer with them so that by the time their wedding day finally arrived we were on pins and needles almost as much as they were!

Since spending one entire day with them just wasn’t enough, Rene and I even joined them at their rehearsal dinner the evening before. What a great experience that was! Holly and Justin wanted to have a portrait session right in downtown Boston before the rehearsal dinner and so the four of us had the best time walking around and getting some fantastic images as the sun set over the city. Here are some of our favorites from their evening session!

And this gorgeous sunset created some incredibly beautiful shadows…

And one last image that we actually just moments before joining their rehearsal dinner. This was one was taken in the alley just behind Locke Ober where their dinner was being held:

After a fantastic evening with their family and friends we were incredibly excited for the next morning to dawn so we could do it all again at the wedding! Holly and Justin’s ceremony and reception was held at the gorgeous Crane’s Estate in Ipswich, still one of my all time favorite locations here in New England. Everything about Holly and Justin’s wedding was personal and warm and incredibly special to them. Even their ceremony was officiated by their very close friend. And here’s a quick peek at some of the images that we got from the actual wedding:

A great moment of Justin and his groomsmen as they got ready before the ceremony:

And this is Holly and her dad literally moments before beginning their walk down the aisle on the beautiful back lawn of the estate:

We are just so happy and thankful that we met Holly and Justin all that time ago and we just can’t wait to get together with you again very soon!
