I still remember perfectly the first time we met Gillian and her family and in just that short time, we knew that this was going to be a very special wedding. And looking back, it was even better than we had imagined it would be! Even though many of their family and friends had to travel from very far, it soon became very obvious that long distances just didn’t matter to any of their relationships.
The entire evening was filled with laughter, emotional tears of happiness and more laughter – just so much happiness everywhere. It was so beautiful to be a part of it. Gillian and Tony chose to have their ceremony and reception at the beautiful Boston Public Library in downtown Boston. The Boston Public Library is a historic landmark and an incredibly unique venue. It wasn’t until very recently that the Library even began renting their space out for wedding receptions and we are so excited about it! From the giant marble staircase and the beautiful murals and ornate details everywhere – it’s just such a stunning backdrop!
Both Gillian and Tony got ready at the beautiful Lenox Hotel just next door to the Library. Soon it was time to make our way to the ceremony and such an easy commute – we took our time and walked just next door, creating a lot of buzz and excitement along the way as everyone wanted to catch a glimpse of the beautiful bride!
The ceremony was held in the beautiful outdoor courtyard at the center of the library. Gillian and Tony even brought in supplemental lighting to create a beautiful atmosphere as they recited their vows:
After the ceremony, their guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the beautifully lit courtyard while listening to their fabulous steel drum band and their wedding party headed inside with us for a great portrait session. We started with their families and their wedding party and had a great time using the different rooms around the library, including this portrait of Tony and his groomsmen:
Then we had a mini-session with Gillian and Tony on their own as well just before their reception was st to begin:
Their dinner was held in the actual study room of the library! We couldn’t quite picture how they would be able to transform this room that is normally filled with hundreds of students quietly studying and we were awed by the end result:
But Gillian and Tony first kicked off their reception with a fabulous first dance completely surrounded by all of their guests:
And there were definitely some emotional moments that followed during several toasts by their fathers and best man and maid of honor. Gillian’s dad delivered an incredibly touching welcome toast that was filled with love and pride for his daughter and happiness for his newly extended family:
What an amazing day for everyone and filled with memories that everyone took home with them at the end of the evening. Thank you so much for letting us be there with you!
