Oooooh, I’ve been so excited to post about Sharon and Chris’ wedding! It seems like it was just a couple of weeks ago that we got together for their engagement session (in downtown Boston here). After that session, we were so unbelievably excited for their wedding. It’s hard to explain what makes Sharon and Chris so special because there’s just so much involved. They are completely and madly in love with each other. And they have been since they were teenagers! Because they’ve known each other for so long it meant that they are were so incredibly comfortable around each other all the time. They just know so much about each other and have been together for so long, and to watch them getting married truly felt like a gift to everyone that was there. It was that beautiful!
Besides stating the obvious that Sharon and Chris are also incredibly gorgeous (as you’ll soon see…), they’re also so much fun to be around – there’s always a lot of laughing and joking when you’re around them. So now you can start to see what an amazing day this turned out to be! I arrived at the very scenic Marriott Longwharf overlooking Boston Harbor while Sharon was getting ready. And that’s when I spotted the first beautiful girl of the day as I walked into their room:

….and she was SO excited about being the official flowergirl of the day. Of course, the true shining beauty was none other than Sharon herself. Sharon worked her butt off leading up to the wedding and when she slipped her gown on, there was an actual moment where everyone stopped talking. She looked THAT amazing. Sharon picked an incredibly beautiful dress and it was perfect for her. Here she is, just minutes before we headed out for the church:

Now, anyone close to Sharon and Chris knows that Sharon rocks the organizational skills like no one else that I’ve seen. She rocks it so much that even when Sharon can’t be there with you, she makes sure that you know exactly what should go where. Rene made sure to get the photographic evidence to prove this point while he was with Chris and the men at their house:

The smiley faces are what makes that note, don’t you think? It’s so true to form for sweet Sharon! “I’ve got it under control, so do this, this and this…but with all my love.”
And Sharon, you’ll be so happy to know that Rene also captured the photographic proof that your notes were worth it.

Sharon and Chris had their ceremony at the beautiful Saint Paul’s Church in Hingham which is actually Sharon’s family church. By the time we arrived it was already dark and with the church spotlights were on outside, it made for a very dramatic walk up to the church just minutes before walking down the aisle:

After the beautiful ceremony, we all made our way back to downtown Boston for their reception at the State Room. Their guests made their way one of the Harborside Salons for cocktail hour and Rene and I loved the martini bar on sight. It was definitely one of the coolest martini bars we’ve seen. Sharon and Chris had picked out a few select specialty martinis and then surrounding the bar were large ice sculptures that had different types of fruit frozen right inside. It was such a fabulous concept!

While their guests enjoyed cocktail hour, we spent some time with Sharon and Chris, their families and their wedding party in the adjoining Harsorside Salon. We also wanted to steal some time with just Sharon and Chris on their own – one our favorite parts of the day! I stayed behind to document the cool details they had worked on for their reception, while Rene, Sharon and Chris escaped to the bridal suite for a private session. Once I was done, I made my way through the different rooms trying to find them when I turned a corner and realized that someone else had spied them first:

Rene loves playing with different lighting techniques for our couples’ portraits, but since I was occupied he needed an extra set of hands with his lighting. Good thing for Rene, he found the perfect assistant in Sharon’s sister! It just so happens that Sharon’s sister has a passion for photography and when Rene found this out, he was in heaven. I couldn’t help but laugh when I opened the doors wider to see this:

Sharon’s sister came through, though, and I promised her that we would post the results. This next portrait couldn’t have happened with out you!

Sharon and Chris are back from their honeymoon now and we’re already working on their wedding album. We are so happy that we were able to spend all of this time with you guys and can’t wait to see you again soon!
