It was such an amazingly beautiful, intimate and very emotional day. I can only imagine how hard it must be for a photographer and artist to decide who they will trust with their own wedding photos. And also how hard it must be to just “let go” and completely enjoy the role reversal. So to say that we are incredibly honored that they wanted to work with us is such an understatement. Their photography was, of course, a big priority for them and they set aside over 2 hours for their portrait sessions! They gave us complete freedom to do what we do best and we had so much fun looking forward to their wedding and brainstorming what we’d be able to do with them.

David and Celeste wanted to make sure that their own unique style were a big part of their wedding. And they accomplished that so perfectly. Everything had a vintage, classic and elegant feel to it. And it was this creative flair and awesome style that we had so much fun with! But enough chatter, let’s share some images!

Both Celeste and David got ready with their wedding party at the historic Hawthorne Hotel in Salem. Rene also took a few minutes to capture some great images of the very handsome David before they headed out for the ceremony.

Soon after, Celeste, her girls and I arrived for their ceremony at the beautiful and historic Cotting Smith House in Salem. We waited upstairs while all of their guests arrived for the ceremony and here Celeste had fun peeking out at everyone as they arrived.

After an incredibly beautiful ceremony (prepared by Celeste and David themselves!) we couldn’t resist using the fabulous light inside of that beautiful home for some portraits. Isn’t Celeste just gorgeous?? And her birdcage veil? To die for!!

We then stepped outside and some more fun using all of the outdoor elements around the house:

Celeste had the best dress EVER which she found at the incomparable Priscilla of Boston:

Nearly an hour had passed and we still hadn’t even left the Cotting Smith House! There were just so many options and it was amazing to be able to run with all of our ideas together without feeling like we were running late! Next we all decided to head down to the Salem waterfront with Celeste and David’s wedding party for some more fun and games. Who needs transportation when we can take a leisurely stroll down the cobblestone streets of Salem??

Along the way we saw this unique ray of light hitting the side of a house that we were passing. We were trying to figure out where it was coming from and realized the sun was positioned just right at that exact moment so that it was shining into a second floor apartment, bouncing off something inside that apartment that we couldn’t see and reflecting a very cool pattern onto the side of a house across the street. We literally only had a minute or two before the sun moved and the that cool reflection was lost, and Rene nailed the shot perfectly!

We also “borrowed” someone’s driveway after spotting a beautiful ivy-covered wall that we just couldn’t resist:

Once we finally made it down to the waterfront, we really started to have fun with their wedding party. For this next image, David pulled out a set of fake mustaches and passed them out to all of his guys for this next image which I just love:

Celeste and David then had private dinner with all of their family and friends at the Lyceum in Salem. But before we left for the evening we all escaped for just a few more minutes for just a few more portraits:

Celeste and David headed back home to Philly right after their wedding and are now getting ready for a big reception back at home in just a couple of weeks. Then they’ll be on their way onto their honeymoon! Their wedding was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our career and we can’t wait to see them again. Thank you again, guys, for trusting us so completely with your wedding!
